Ars Nova (Jason Eagan, Artistic Director; Jeremy Blocker, Managing Director) presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a FREE reading of GIRL ON GIRL by Stephen Karam, co-directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld. The cast includes Jessie Austrian, Darius Pierce, Ben Steinfeld and Emily Young.

It's a dark and stormy night and a killer is on the loose, leaving the nurses of Citytown General Hospital trembling in their tight, white uniforms. Meanwhile, at Citytown General High School, Principal Pee has armed the janitors to maintain order in the face of rampant lesbianism and administrative chaos. Mayhem, mutiny, and vicious wordplay unite in this duo of absurdist dark farces.

Stephen Karam is the author of Sons of the Prophet (Drama Critics Circle, Outer Critics Circle and Lucille Lortel Awards for Best Play, and Finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize), Speech & Debate, columbinus, and Dark Sisters, an original chamber opera with composer Nico Muhly. He is a second year member of the Ars Nova Play Group.

Noah Brody is a founder and co-artistic director of Fiasco Theater. He has acted in and co-directed all of Fiasco's productions including Twelfth Night, Cymbeline, Into the Woods and the upcoming Measure for Measure. He has schmacted at theaters in the US and Europe, appeared shirtless on soap operas, headless on a crime drama, and as a dismembered torso on some underwear boxes. He teaches acting and choreographs fights for money--which he spends on cat food. Noah's plays include The Vexed Question, currently under development with Fiasco. He is a proud graduate of the Brown-Trinity MFA Acting program.

Ben Steinfeld is an actor, director, teacher, and co-artistic director of Fiasco Theater. He has co-directed and acted in Fiasco's acclaimed productions of Cymbeline (TFANA/Barrow St.) and Into the Woods (McCarter). As an actor he has been seen on Broadway in Cyrano de Bergerac and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Off-Broadway: Public Theater. Selected regional: Room Service (upcoming, Westport), Misalliance (Portland Center Stage), Design for Living (Williamstown Theatre Festival), and ten plays with Trinity Rep. Film: HBO's Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight (dir. Stephen Frears), The Jew of Malta. Television: The Good Wife, Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Teaching: NYU's Gallatin School.

GIRL ON GIRL will be read on Monday, September 9 at 3:00pm in the Ars Nova Theater. The OUT LOUD Series is FREE and open to the public. Reservations are required. Ars Nova is located at 511 West 54th Street. For more information and to reserve tickets, please visit www.arsnovanyc.com.
