Jeremiah Theatricals will begin previews of the New York City premiere of THE TIME OF MENDEL'S TROUBLE, a madcap musical of biblical proportions, on Friday, July 18, 2008. The production will have its official opening on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row. Book is by Jeremiah Ginsberg and Wendy Ginsberg, music and lyrics are by Jeremiah Ginsberg. Orchestrations are by Peter Fuchs. Jeremiah Ginsberg directs.

When Mendel Moskowitz gets a surprise visit from The Burning Bush in his apartment in Brooklyn, his life turns topsy-turvy. Together with his new friend, Murray Schwartz from Miami Beach, they become the two prophets of the Apocalypse, and embark on a madcap spiritual journey that leads them all the way to Jerusalem for some miraculous end-time adventures.  An epic musical excursion through the Book of Revelation, the show incorporates a Romeo & Juliet-type love story, political satire, comedy, tragedy, and the ultimate triumph of good over evil when Messiah finally comes to earth. The end of the world was never so zany!

Jeremiah Ginsberg (Composer/Author/Director/Producer) was a jazz musician at the University of Connecticut at Storrs, a graduate of New York Law School, and an entertainment attorney and producer in New York City. A composer and lyricist for many years, he wrote songs that were recorded by major jazz artists Gloria Lynne, Kay Starr, Lana Cantrell, Helen Merrill and others. He is the composer, author and director of the award-winning Biblical musicals, "Rabboni" and "Mendel & Moses," which he produced to excellent reviews off-Broadway and in Los Angeles, respectively. He is also the author of the widely acclaimed book on end-time prophecy, "While The Fiddler Played, The World Came To An End," and a sought-after international lecturer.

Born in Los Angeles, Wendy Ginsberg graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in Psychology. She studied acting in Los Angeles and appeared in "Funny Lady," "Kojak," print and commercials. Along with Jeremiah, her husband of 26 years, she produced and co-wrote the book for "Rabboni" and "Mendel & Moses." Peter P. Fuchs has been Musical Director and Conductor of over 50 musical shows. He is well known throughout the South Florida area as Musical Director and Conductor of the Miami Symphonic Society and the South Florida Youth Symphony.
