James Franco's Studio 4, a school for acting and film, will present James McLure's 1959 Pink Thunderbird running three performances between October 5th and 6th at Producers Club. The cast includes Steven Anderson*, Peter Angelinas, Tim Cordell, Christie Pierce,Reema Sampat & Michelle Scarr. *(member of Actor's Equity)
1959 Pink Thunderbird is comprised of two comedic one-acts, Laundry & Bourbon and Lone Star. Both plays are centered around a Vietnam veteran's return home to Maynard, Texas, in the late 1970s. Laundry & Bourbon is the story of three small town women who love to gossip, even at the possible expense of one of their marriages. Lone Star is about Roy, a man who loves three things: his country, his beautiful wife and his 1959 Pink Thunderbird convertible - not necessarily in that order. Roy's world is about to unravel with the arrival of an old high school acquaintance. The show gives a hilarious look at marriage, brotherly love, and the slow-paced lifestyle that existed in a small West Texas town during the 70's.
