Jimmy Tingle For President: The Exploratory Show , which was previously announced for its initial New York "town hall" performances in June, has been extended for July as Jimmy takes the pulse of this nation (or at least the Upper West Side of Manhattan) at The Triad. The political wit and fun starts at 9:15 on Fridays June 3rd, 10th, 17tth, and 24tth and continues at 7:00 on July 3rd, 10th, 16th, and 30th.

Drawing on 30 years of comedic insight, outrage and commentary, nationally known
comedian and commentator for "60 Minutes II", Jimmy Tingle, has constructed another hilarious, thought-provoking and politically charged one man show based on his satirical 2012 platform for the Presidency.During each 90 minute performance, Tingle's campaign underlines his passion and
creative thinking on every issue aspiring Presidential candidates must grapple with from immigration and education to global warming, war and national healthcare. The name of Tingle's party is "Humor for Humanity": Humor and Helping, Humor and Healing, Humor and Hope; HaH! HaH!, HaH! And that is what Tingle inspires his audiences to chant at his rallies (shows). HAH! HAH! HAH!

Following his opening remarks, Tingle holds a live press conference/town meeting with a question-and-answer session compelling the candidate to think on his feet as he makes his case to lead the nation. This improvisational element not only makes each stage performance unique, but it will also help prepare Tingle to quickly adapt to the unforeseen yet inevitable developments on the world stage that await the President.

Because he has never held elected office and has virtually no legislative accomplishments Jimmy Tingle is running on his comedic record.BUT DON'T WORRY--despite the seriousness of the issues confronting America and the world, Jimmy Tingle for President is funny. That's the "Tingle difference."

His current platform will include pertinent material developed in earlier shows, including Uncommon Sense, The Promised Land and The American Dream, all of which
were directed by Larry Arrick. Jimmy Tingle was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The social, political and economic diversity of that city laid the groundwork for his development as a performer and satirist. He started performing in 1980 during the early stand-up comedy scene in Boston and quickly rose through the ranks from open-mike performer to paid engagements, headlining at Comedy Clubs, theaters and colleges nationwide. He is now regarded as one of the top social commentators and humorists in the country.

Jimmy Tingle spent two seasons with "60 Minutes II" on CBS as the humorist and commentator in the Andy Rooney spot, and worked as a contributor and satirist for MSNBC. He has appeared, on CNN with Larry King, Joy Behar and Tom Foreman on "The Tonight Show", Comedy Central, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", as well as his own HBO comedy special.

In May of 2010 he graduated from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard with a Masters Degree in Public Administration and was the graduate school student commencement speaker at Harvard University's 2010 graduation ceremonies.

He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with his wife Catherine and son Seamus.
