Isle Of Shoals Launches The Lance Series  Image

Isle of Shoals Productions, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit theatre company, is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with THE LANCE SERIES. The Series is named in honor of the late Lance Hewett, Founding Artistic Director and Guiding Light of IOS for 19 memorable years, and will consist of staged readings of 5 wildly diverse new plays, chosen from nearly a hundred submitted in a nationwide search.

BOOK OF ESTHER by Gina Stevensen (directed by Tirosh Schneider): Within the confines of an Orthodox Jewish community in Brooklyn, a new generation of women is pushing boundaries. Featuring Rachel Eddy, Dara Pohl Feldman, Michael Labbadia*, Leonard J. Moore II, Alexa Robbins, Lauren Wilmore; SM Anthony Ebanks

PERSONHOOD by Max Mondi (directed by Alex Mace): Offbeat dramedy about identity, homelessness and the need for connection, with an intrusive mannequin named Gerald. Featuring Kathleen O'Neal, Lauren Wilmore, Lauren A. Kennedy, Nick Mauldin; SM Linda Elizabeth

SOMETHING, SOMEWHERE, SOMEHOW by Alexander Perez (directed by Justy Kosek): Zany comedy about the semi-murderous underbelly of Indie Theatre. Featuring Nate Betancourt, Rachel Brudner, Linda Elizabeth, Aaron Gaines*, Thom Hilton*, Laura Iris Hill, Michelle Kuchuk, Nikki Lowe*, Nick Mauldin, George Ronis, Abby Wilde*; SM Tina Truong

THE CENSOR by David L. Williams (directed by Abby Wilde): Nothing is certain when the long arm of the government finally reaches a freethinking arts community. Featuring Nate Betancourt, Kelly Blaze*, Kathleen O'Neal, George Ronis; SM Anthony Ebanks

THIS IS WHY by Michelle Kuchuk (directed by Justy Kosek): Poignant drama about a woman deciding for herself whether to give the eulogy for her problematic ex-boyfriend. Featuring Carroll Herring, David Shakopi*, Alex Stone, Cecilia Vaicels; SM Tina Truong

THE LANCE SERIES runs from March 11 thru March 22, 2020 at Theatre 54 @ Shetler Studios & Theatres, 244 West 54th Street, 12th Floor. In addition to nighttime shows, there are Wednesday, Friday and weekend matinees, even a couple of noon performances.
