New York City's own Infinite Variety Productions is set to perform the compelling and captivating historical play, ‘A Piece of My Heart' by Shirley Lauro. The show will run two weekends in November (11th-13th) and (18th-20th) at The Tank Theatre located on 151 West 46th street, 8th floor. Tickets are available online at : http://www.brownpapertickets.com/producerevent/202331

Infinite Variety Productions was founded by Ashley Adelman and Maria Makenna with the mission of cultivating theater that carries a message. Having produced a highly successful rendition of Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit,' the all-women team of Infinite Variety Productions knew it was time for a new venture, and they took on Shirley Lauro's ‘A Piece of My Heart.'

Directed by Bridget Leak, ‘A Piece of My Heart' is set in the midst of the Vietnam War. It follows the true stories of six of the estimated 10,000 women (the actual number may never be known) who were posted to Vietnam during the war. For these women, the war continued when they returned home to a society that did not want to hear their stories. We believe their stories need to be heard.

Ms. Lauro will be attending the opening night performance and autographing copies of her script. The signed copies will be sold and the proceeds will be donated to The Vietnam Women's Memorial Foundation.

The November 13th performance will also include a post-show talkback with five special women who served in Vietnam during the war: Ann Kelsey, an Army Special Services librarian who served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970; Edie McCoy-Meeks, who arrived in Pleiku, Vietnam, in July 1968, at age 23 and worked as a nurse at the 71st Evacuation Hospital near the Cambodian border; Arlene Smith-Cataldo, who joined the Army in the late 1960s and enlisted in the United States Army Nurse Corps. She served two tours in Vietnam from 1969-1970; Judy Jenkins Gaudino; who served in the Army Special Services Club in Vietnam from 1967-1970; and Susan O'Neill, an army nursein Vietnam from 1969-1970.
