Immersive Experience HEYDAYS Comes To Prospect Park This Summer Image

This summer, The Brouhaha Theatre Project presents the World Premiere of HEYDAYS, an immersive theater experience in Brooklyn's Prospect Park, from August 9th through August 19th, 2018.

Sixteen audience members follow an insular high school friend group as they stumble from adolescence to adulthood. But in this show's beguiling world, a coming-of-age might just come around more than once. What are wayward youth to do when faced with the opportunity to turn back the clock and re-write their most precarious moments? HEYDAYS is a dreamy immersive experience that takes its audience into some of the park's most enchanting corners.

HEYDAYS is an hour-long performance beginning at The Boathouse. Guests will be separated from their fellow audience members and engaged as both participants and voyeurs as they encounter live music, dance, interactive performance, and curated food bites. The show will cover hills, woods, and uneven pathways. Audience members will be on their feet for the majority of their experience and are advised to wear proper shoes and clothes. Tickets go on sale July 1st. More information and tickets at heydaystheshow.com.

Conception and Direction is by Nick Auer and Max Pendergast, with Associate Direction and Writing by Sam Myers. Choreography is by Mary Anne Bodnar, with Culinary Design by Lydia O'Brien. HEYDAYS is created in collaboration with its performers: Hanna Allerton, Daina Njuguna, Ciaran Walsh, Dan Kuan Peeples, Alexandra Tweedley, Tom Mezger, John Goodman, and Annette Hammond.

Dubbed by Greenpointers as "one of Brooklyn's youngest and most promising theater companies," The Brouhaha Theatre Project investigates different relationships between audiences and performance in strange, exciting spaces. Their first production, TUNNEL ODYSSEY, staged in Prospect Park's Meadowport Arch, was a raucous combination of The Oregon Trail and The Odyssey, with original folk music. Brouhaha's most recent production, R&D: A NIGHTMARE IN THREE FLOWCHARTS, first performed at Dixon Place then at The Keep, brought audiences into a surreal venture capital commune called BrainSoul, where ideas became divorced from reality.
