ICARUS AT THE EDGE OF TIME is part of this year's World Science Festival and will play on Sunday, June 6 at 6:00pm at the NYU Skirball Center (566 LaGuardia Place, Manhattan).
Having premiered at Lincoln Center at the World Science Festival's opening gala, ICARUS AT THE EDGE OF TIME is a 40-minute piece featuring original music by Philip Glass, film created and directed by visual artists Al and Al, and a script adapted by Brian Greene and David Henry Hwang and live narration by Liev Schreiber.
ICARUS is a futuristic re-imagining of the Greek myth in which a boy travels not to the sun but to a black hole, and in so doing poignantly dramatizes one of Einstein's greatest insights.
ICARUS AT THE EDGE OF TIME is commissioned and co-produced by the World Science Festival (New York) and Southbank Centre (London) with The Royal Society. Co-commissioned by Associazione Festival della Scienza, with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Glasgow's Concert Halls.Videos
