Ego Actus (Bruce A! Kraemer and Joan Kane producers) presents I Know What Boys Want, a new drama by award winning playwright Penny Jackson opening March 28th at the WorkShop Theater. Vicky Walker, a sexy senior in a New York City prep school, finds herself the victim of a sex tape that has gone viral. The tape creates an immediate sensation among students and faculty and Vicky is disgraced and gets suspended from school. Her uncomprehending mother, a former feminist who doesn't understand the new, "show me everything" attitude of Vicky's generation, demands that Vicky destroys the phone with the sex footage before it does even more damage. Can Vicky make herself vanish from the Internet? Or will she remain an eternal victim caught in its web?

Penny Jackson's most recent play, Safe, won best new dramatic writing at The Planet Connections Theater Festivity last summer and will be produced this August at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Safe was recently published by Indie Theater Now, and will also be performed at 59E59 in July. Her play, The Belle of Staten Island was featured in Double X, an all female playwrights festival in Seattle. Her new play, All Alices, currently in development, was part of the Lark Play Development Roundtable series. Her screenplays include Becoming The Butlers, based on her prize-winning novel published by Bantam Books, and Girl Talk. Her awards for writing include a MacDowell Colony Fellowship, and a Pushcart Prize.

Director Joan Kane was named one of the 2011 People of The Year in independent theatre by nytheatre.com. Some of her directing credits include Play Nice! Off-Broadway at 59 E 59 Theaters, Aliens With Extraordinary Skills at Theater 54, Safe in the 2012 Planet
Connections Theatre Festivity and Pizza Man at Bridge Theater. She has directed plays and readings at the Lark Play Development Center, Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Players Club and The Actors Studio among other well known venues and holds an MFA in directing from the New
School.

Producer and lighting designer Bruce A! Kraemer has done lighting design for Roundabout Theatre and Soho Rep and designed shows at Ensemble Studio Theatre, 59 E 59 Theaters and Bleecker Street Theatre, among others. Well skilled in many technical aspects of theatre and TV, he's worked on a variety of events including the Tony Awards, the Grammys and the Olympics.

Ego Actus (Latin for "my way") was founded in 2009 by Joan Kane and Bruce A! Kraemer. They produce, direct and develop plays that are meant to be a complete audience experience using all the elements of theatre contributed by a talented team of playwrights, actors and designers who have made these disciplines the focus of their lives. Each associated artist brings their own creative vision to the shows produced by Ego Actus and their work is unified into a collective "My Way".
