KYLE is a new comedy by Hollis James, inspired by his knock-down-drag-out battle with drug addiction. It's about a guy named Jack, his friend Kyle, and Kyle's friend cocaine. Thanks to his new friends, Jack's life quickly begins to spiral out of control. He loses his job, his girlfriend, his health, and all sense of personal hygiene. Will Jack find the strength to get his life back on track or will Kyle ultimately win?

HOLLIS JAMES (Playwright) was born and raised in Queens, NY. After a five-year stint at a four-year college, Hollis worked a series of dead-end jobs, including child entertainer and janitor in a mental hospital, before he began performing stand-up comedy. He then worked for years in publishing as a ghostwriter at a religious mag and Editor-in-Chief of a porn rag, before quitting to become a full-time DJ. Hollis currently writes children's books for Penguin Random House (titles include Mikey's Monsters, Space Shark, Jurassic Bark, and Santa's Little Genies) and is the author of Ed Wood Taxi Driver: or Plan Nine from Mau Mau Land, currently available on Amazon. Hollis stars in the award-winning comedy web series Teachers Lounge, which he also co-wrote/created. KYLE is his first play.

EMILY OWENS (Director) has worked in public relations for indie and off-Broadway theatre for the past ten years. Prior to that she was a marketing intern at Manhattan Theatre Club and a press assistant at The Public Theater. Before that she directed productions of Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland at Plano Children's Theater. Emily received her actor/director training at Dallas Theater Center, Circle in the Square Theatre School and T.Schreiber Studios.

HOT TRAMP PRODUCTIONS creates pre-apocalyptic theatre for a post-Bowie world. Each darkly comic show is a secret handshake for cool kids--a pop-culture pastiche, presented with punk-rock attitude. We are dedicated to blending the seriously funny and the hysterically serious to provide NYC with the Viking funeral it deserves.

FRIGID NEW YORK @ HORSE TRADE is a theater development group with a focus on new work that produces a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater every season. FRIGID's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy. FRIGID New York grew out of the annual FRIGID Festival, the first and only festival of its kind in New York City to offer artists 100% of their box office proceeds, and Horse Trade Theater Group, a self-sustaining theater development and management group.
