(a)muse collective and Horse Trade Theater Group present a series of individually driven diversions. Sunday nights at UNDER St. Marks there will be Ramblings, Scratchings and Travelers while Sexy will always comes Back and Acid trips appear. Buckle up for the Ride, things will happen. Sometimes shocking, sometimes amusing, but always entertaining.
Ramblings of a Gentleman Scumbag
September 13 @ 8pm
Lucky Chengs Balloon man, delusional comic, and man of no God tries to justify 34 years of poor life choices and degeneracy. Profiled in Playgirl, FHM Magazine, Time-Out NY Magazine, Murdock is not your Father's balloon man. Ramblings features stories of fools met and mastered, "divine inspiration," and a perspective of the Big Apple from within the rotten core. A straight man in a gay world, a feminist in the sex industry, a sober man in the middle of a never-ending party, a ridiculous man in a ridiculous world.
SCRATCH
November 15 @ 8pm
A play in verse and song about one man's attempt to answer the old question: should I stay or should I go? We follow him through what could be his last few hours in New York, sifting his psychological Lost and Found to try and make sense of what was lost and to stock up on supplies before moving on to what's next.
No Traveler
January 17 @ 8pm
Tonight we wonder through one woman's darkly funny journey through this meaningless and absurd world and life's most pivotal moments of desperation. From childhood to her adult life Rebecca is convinced that suicide is her only sure escape but her attempts are continually derailed by a mysterious comically dysfunctional dark "angel" who's method is less convincing then her motivation. Her misguided but well-intentioned mother only contributes anxiety as Rebecca tries to find and keep a reason to live. We explore the crisis of human existence, the fear and freedom of nothing stopping her whether she chooses life or death and that she has no one to blame but herself.
SEXYBACK
March 28 @ 8pm
Does anyone think about the woman in the corner of the bar, the lady who dances to forget, drinks to become numb, watches humanity with an eagle eye and dagger tongue? Now you have to. A magical skakarama of intimate proportions.
Acid stories from Play Land
May 23 @ 8pm
Mike Milazzo's combination of Music and Storytelling from the early years as a drug addled kiddi-ride operator to his career highs and lows from opening for Donavon and Richie Havens to sharing the stage with the Huskies mascot at the bullshead shopping center strip-mall (not necessary in that order) Music feeds the soul but the mans gotta eat.
Buckle Up: The Journey of a Ride Home
July 25 @ 8pm
Natalie Underwood takes us on one woman's powerful and yet bumpy journey to adulthood. Love is love even when it is forbidden - even when it smacks you dead center in the middle of a criminal court case, when it threatens a marriage, when it disrupts the power hierarchy of an entire organization. Join her for this chilling and poignant look at age, love, betrayal, and redemption, as her character examines the road traveled and the vehicle she once rode in so securely. Experience the crash. Meet the little girl that refuses to get out of the passenger seat, and the woman that finally takes the wheel.
The solo series, presented by Horse Trade Theater Group and (a) muse Collective, will play at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Ave and Ave A). Tickets ($12) are available by calling Smarttix at 212-868-4444 or online at www.horseTRADE.info
