NEW RESIDENTS

WIDE EYED PRODCUTIONS is a New York City-based collective of artists dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in risk-taking, relevant theatre. Their core ensemble is committed to the birth of new works and also the rebirth of the classic texts. Through their collaborative process Wide Eyed discovers and creates theatre that both stimulates the imagination and awakens the public's passion for high standards in the performing arts. Wide Eyed was born September 8, 2007 and was founded by Kristin Skye Hoffmann, Liz White and Sky Seals, all graduates of University of Northern Colorado's performing arts program. Wide Eyed Productions was built as a platform for talented people to be recognized, and to be a place where quality productions abound. Wide Eyed Productions was also named a 2009 Person Of The Year by nytheatre.com. www.wideeyedproductions.com

ANIMAL PARTS is a New York City based theatre company dedicated to creating unique and vibrant new theatre that not only entertains, but challenges its audience. Using traditions of clown and bouffon, and juxtaposing multi-media with an honest and true connection with the audience - Animal Parts creates serio-comic performance pieces always rooted in Humor, Heart, and Innovation. Co-artistic directors Anthony Johnston and Nathan Schwartz have produced their work across Canada and in NYC. Their first piece, Art's Heart (written and performed by Johnston, directed by Schwartz) was the recipient of an Outstanding Solo Show Award at the 2009 NY Fringe Festival, and their newest creation, ***[tenderpits]*** made its debut at the 2010 New York Frigid Festival, and was also seen at the 2010 Left Out Festival; a celebration of gay solo performance art. Animal Parts is currently developing a new performance piece inspired by the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf and the exploration of things which may be (or may not be) "too serious" to joke about. Next year, the company will produce the World Premiere production of a new play by Miranda Huba (Candy Tastes Nice, House of Kosa). www.tenderpits.com

LITTLE LORD manipulates both classic and found texts, pillages faulty nostalgias, and celebrates the homemade as a means to create vibrantly bawdy, offbeat, intelligent, queer, funny (and often musical) theater. Simultaneously glorifying and destroying any pretense of theatrical illusion, we dare audiences to reevaluate the familiar. The company is led by Artistic Director Michael Levinton (who serves as the primary adapter and director of the company's work), Associate Producer/Dramaturg Sarah Bishop-Stone, and Associate Artistic Director Laura von Holt, as well as an ever-growing bevy of associated artists named "The Lads." Little Lord was founded with the generous support of Target Margin Theater's lab series - a program designed to allow emerging artists the resources and creative freedom to produce for New York City audiences. Recently: a new adaptation of the musical extravaganza BABES IN TOYLAND starring David Greenspan as the Master Toymaker, which premiered as part of OHIO Theatre's Ice Factory Festival 2009. Recently in association with Target Margin Theater: the NYC premiere of Tennessee William's kinky short play THE PRONOUN ‘I' at The Bushwick Starr; (oh my god I am so) THIRST(y) - an offshoot of Eugene O'Neill's early melodrama on race and madness - at The Chocolate Factory; BALABUSTAS (!), a queer yiddishkeit version of Aristophanes' raucous comedy Thesmophoriazusae at HERE Arts Center; and THE BARBIE-STEIA: Curse of the House of Malibu, an absurdist take on Aeschylus' classic trilogy "The Oresteia" starring a chorus of Barbie dolls at the OHIO Theatre. Upcoming in addition to the Horse Trade season: (oh my god I am so) THIRST(y) - (mostly) by Eugene O'Neill, directed by Michael Levinton, produced in association with Incubator Arts Project @ St Mark's Church, October 21 - 20, 2010. www.littlelord.org
