Comedienne Scout Durwoods presents, Hi, How Can I Help You? a one woman musical following the lives of six women employed at a New York City house of domination the night of the 2008 presidential election as they navigate the volatile economy of the sex industry during a recession. All of the show's music is performed live onstage using instruments ranging from a ukulele, jingle bells, a recorder, a vocal looper, and beer filled glasses, The show is inspired by a sense of children at play, embracing the silly rather than the sexy side of life as a dominatrix.
Hi, How Can I Help You? was developed thanks to a grant from Brooklyn Arts Exchange and debuted at the 2010 Edinburgh International Fringe Festival. Scout Durwood currently resides in Brooklyn, NY and is the host of "Takin off the Ritz," a weekly burlesque/variety show, and "Something Awesome," a seasonal vaudville extravaganza. Her work has been featured on The Howard Stern Show, CBS Radio, Comix Comedy Club, Joe's Pub, Bowery Poetry, The Miss America Pageant, and just about every venue in New York City with a stage and a mic. What critics are saying about Lady Scoutington:
"a charismatic performer with an attractive, smoky voice, and shines in this musical story of sex workers in New York on election night, 2008". Three Weeks
"Hi, How Can I Help You?" will dizzy you with a dizzying onslaught of dizzying eye and sound candy." Mark Fulmer
"Scout is a brilliant actor, comic, and singer/songwriter, no really - she can do all three at an absurdly high level. She is dangerously smart, and yet unafraid of looking silly." Stagebuzz.com
"Her performance is funny and emotionally honest and she has stage presence to spare." Martin Denton, nytheatre.com
"You've got good comedy. You've got a great Penelope Cruz impression and you've got a great set of tits." Howard Stern
"She's got it all." Robin Quivers
"A dynamically talented woman..." GO Magazine
"A world where sexy and funny collide. It's quite rare for someone as beautiful as Lady Scoutington to develop an interesting personality - much less a funny one - under such a pretty face, simply because they don't have to. Lucky for us, Scoutington is a different sort. How she managed to conceal a flask of whiskey, a full pint of beer, a wine glass, and a martini shaker all within one skimpy outfit may forever be a mystery, but it sure was fun watching her reveal them." Scallywag and Vagabond
"Scout is a breath of fresh air on the comic scene...her presence and her sense of wit is to say the least... Extraordinary!!!" Frankie Russo, CBS Radio
New York City's newest queen of late night comedy!" Culture Mob
"lol sexiness" Hypergender Burlesque
"Hot AND funny" Velvet Park
"With stage presence to spare she has any audience in the palm of her hand. Creative, charming and so versatile Scout does it all and will keep you laughing and in love the whole time." Funny Not Slutty
