Heiress Productions, a company whose mission is to fight cancer one show at a time, is teaming up with Uniting Against Lung Cancer to bring Jessica Anderson's My Purple Wig to the stage.

Andrea Andresakis is set to direct a wonderful cast that includes: Laura Faith, Sari Caine, Peter Oliver, Eric Percival, Peter James and Carey Urban. Also working on the show are Brittany Vasta (Scenic Design), Mary Ellen Stebbins (Lighting Design) and Summer Lee Jack (Costume Design).

My Purple Wig tells the story of one woman's (often outrageous) attempts of dealing with her terminal cancer. Evelyn has cancer and decided the best way to die is to be prepared to die, much to the chagrin of her family. She auditions the musicians for her funeral, tours funeral homes for competitive rates, engages her family in conversations about her burial method and wears wigs in all colors of the rainbow. As her methods get more erratic, her family must decide whether to come together or fall apart.

Heiress Productions was founded in 2006 by Laura Faith & Mary Willis White. Its mission is to produce new plays while raising awareness and relief funds for cancer organizations. Since its inception, the company has produced six acclaimed plays at Theatre Row Theaters. For more info visit: www.heiressproductions.org.

Uniting Against Lung Cancer (UALC) is dedicated to funding innovative research and raising awareness to find a cure for lung cancer.

My Purple Wig runs November 7-24, Wednesday through Sunday at 8pm with Matinees on Saturdays at 3pm and Sundays at 2pm. Playing at the Lion Theatre on Theatre Row, located at 410 West 42nd Street at 9th Avenue. Tickets are $18 at the box office, www.TeleCharge.com or by calling 212-239-6200.
