On Friday, March 9, students enrolled in the theater and acting programs at the famed Harlem School of the Arts, under the guidance of Alfred Preisser, Artistic Director & Chair of the Theatre Department, will launch the 2018 theater season with a production of Shakespeare's MACBETH. For two consecutive weekends on Friday and Saturdays at 7:00 PM, and on Sundays at 3:00 PM, March 9 - 18, at HSA Theatre, 649 Saint Nicholas Avenue.
Following the successful student presentations of Euripides' MEDEA and Trojan Women, the HSA Theatre Alliance is taking an important step forward in tackling one of Shakespeare's most popular tragedies, Macbeth.
After general Macbeth, loyal to King Duncan, receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become king himself, Macbeth is overcome by greed and ambition.
