HOPE IN CHAOS, a new play written by 9/11 relief worker, Heather McCuen which enjoyed a run at the Mainline Theatre Montreal in 2010, has been playing in New York City as part of the Tenth Anniversary Memorial Commemorations of 9/11. It will close on September 10, 2011 at the Richmond Shepard Theatre.

The New York engagement, presented by Impulse Theatre will feature the talents of Broadway and International favorites Jessica Walker (Movin' Out, Phantom - Las Vegas, Chess), Séan Loftus (Celtic Women International Tour), Eric Rubb (Blue Man Group), Heather McCuen, Thomas Christensen, Rachel Claire and Timothy Mele. Holly-Anne Ruggiero (Jersey Boys, 700 Sundays) directs.

Hope in Chaos is the extraordinary true story of one average New Yorker, who found herself amongst the chaos of Ground Zero in the days immediately following September 11th. She would remain there for four months working amongst the rubble with an unlikely team of civilian relief workers.
Based on writer McCuen's experience as a member of a New York State Senate-sponsored Disaster Task Force deep inside the chaos of Ground Zero, Hope in Chaos recounts her team's experiences bearing witness to the tragedy, and their efforts to make sense of what has happened to their city.
"I'm thrilled to bring Ms. McCuen's incredibly rich new play to New York at such a pivotal time in our city's history", says Producer and Director, Holly-Anne Ruggiero. "Hope in Chaos explores the struggles and triumphs of a group of young New Yorkers who answered a call to action and found their strength in a city that had been shaken to its core. The piece provides a wonderful outlet for the healing process of our city in this, the tenth anniversary year of 9/11."

The company of Hope In Chaos will be offering talk-backs after each production and encourage school groups to attend the matinee performances. A fundraiser and outreach program will be hosted at the Hour Glass Tavern from 8pm - 11pm on Saturday, August 27th.
