Experimental sketch comedy troupe brings HIS MAJESTY, THE BABY'S LIMITED EXPERIENCE: A CHRISTMAS COMEDY MUSICALE to The Peoples' Improv Theater, December 26 and 27, 2014.
Should we live our lives according to good, evil, or "it depends"? On December 26 and 27, join New York's least quirky sketch group in a sober contemplation of this and other seasonal questions. Crafted with great care to immerse, antagonize, and improve its audience, Limited Experience is sure to please.
Theatergoers of all levels will enjoy the musical numbers -- including a fight-song battle between the performers and the audience -- as well as the regular numbers -- including 7, 8, and 53. To top it all off, an auction at the end of the show will determine which audience member gets to go home with the experience of having seen the performance. Come for the didgeridoo, come for the love, or come for the Verfremdungseffekt, but whatever you do, come to win.
His Majesty, the Baby (members: Nathan Campbell; Max Ritvo; Shon Arieh-Lerer, artistic director; John Griswold; Andrew Kahn, producer and manager) is a new experimental comedy group. Described by critics as "endlessly innovative," "restlessly deconstructive," and "the future of all entertainment," HMtB fearlessly pushes the boundaries of sketch comedy. The group performed at the 2014 NYC Fringe Festival, the PIT, and various venues in New Haven and LA. Drawing inspiration from Monty Python, Tim and Eric, and performance art, HMtB blends traditional sketches with dance, poetry, and live music, physical comedy with metaphysical comedy. For the members of HMtB, one of whom is battling cancer at age 23, comedy should deal frankly with our worst fears: spiders.
