HAPPY SUNSHINE KUNG FU FLOWER will play their last show on Saturday October 25th, at 10:30 PM at the Zipper Factory Theater.

Called "Shocking, Engaging, Funny, and Totally Original," by Rachel Maddow (The Rachel Maddow Show, MSNBC), Happy Sunshine Kung Fu Flower is written/produced by Matthew-Lee Erlbach (Important Things with Demetri Martin, Comedy Central 2009), and has been featured by the NY Post, TONY, Village Voice, and NY Press. Happy Sunshine Kung Fu Flower is a multimedia socio-political satire centering on a group of outsourced Japanese Ninjas hired by China to infiltrate the American Psyche by taking on roles in the Media, Pop Culture, and Politics.

Now at The Zipper Factory, HSKFF began at Lotus and later moved to Comix and Ars Nova, gaining recognition and a cult following in NYC for integrating political pundits, celebrities, journalists, and music from the NYC underground scene into its raw comedy format. Past guests have included Amy Goodman, Mo Rocca, Rachel Maddow, Paul Rieckhoff, Lizz Winstead, Willie Geist, Hunter Bell, Michael Musto, and Rachel Sklar, among others. Sponsored by The Onion.

Happy Sunshine Kung Fu Flower is directed by Darren Katz (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), with music supervision by Ian Wehrle, and features writing and performances by Lynn Andrews (Annie), Tarik Davis (Boom Chicago), Brooke Ishibashi, and Matthew-Lee Erlbach. Kelli Jo Claxton serves as production manager/associate producer; Wendy Harris as general manager/associate producer; Mike Barczys is lighting designer; and Jeff Ashworth (Comix) and Heath Calvert (Huffiington Post) as contributing writers.
