A brand new musical production of HANSEL & GRETEL will receive its world premiere next month in Brooklyn at 17 Frost, a unique performance and art space in Williamsburg. Running September 16th-25th, this exciting multimedia version of the classic Grimm Brothers fairy tale will surround the audience with three large projection screens to visually immerse them into the story. Written by Chad Howard (book) and Carly Howard (music and lyrics), the production features a hauntingly beautiful indie-folk score and will be presented at 17 Frost by the Sparrowtree Theatre Company.
In this production, HANSEL & GRETEL return to their hometown after a long unexplained absence where they are forced to confront the ghosts of their childhood...was the woman really a witch? Were Hansel & Gretel truly responsible for her demise? These questions of morality and memory meet in this dark twist on the cherished tale, told primarily through musical flashbacks. With an indie-folk musical flare, this original multimedia version of HANSEL & GRETEL combines theatre, film, and dance and is sure to leave audiences moved, entertained, and inspired.HANSEL & GRETEL will run from September 16th thru September 25th at 17 Frost (17 Frost and Union Avenue in Williamsburg, 2 stops on the L train from Manhattan).
