With the popularity of her Fanny performances in the Off-Broadway solo show One Night with Fanny Brice and in Ghostlight (NYMF), Kimberly Faye Greenberg has now created an intimate new "Fanny Brice" solo show, Fabulous Fanny: The Songs and Stories of Fanny Brice. Justin Boccitto and Michael Blevins' company, The Group Theatre Too, brings the production to Stage 72 at the Triad this March 5th at 7pm. In Fabulous Fanny Kimberly shares her extensive research not as another tribute, but to personally reveal Fanny's heart and humor, soul and song.
The one-night event performs Tuesday, March 5th at 7pm at 158 W. 72nd Street, New York, NY. Tickets are $15 with a two drink minimum. To order tickets visit www.stage72.com or call 1-800-838-3006.
Along the way, audiences will hear the familiar My Man, Second-Hand Rose, Rose of Washington Square, Cooking Breakfast for the One I Love, When a Women Loves A Man, Sadie Salome, and others that sparked Fanny's fame. Brian Childers, who has performed extensively with Kimberly, directs her performance; Justin Boccitto choreographs; and Jeff Biering is musical director. The creative team includes costume designer, Ryan Mattheiu Smith; creative consultant, Kimberly Rehfuss; and management, The Bohemia Group.
Fabulous Fanny: The Songs and Stories of Fanny Brice was initially commissioned and premiered at the Riviera Shalom Club in Freehold, New Jersey. It is currently booked throughout the tri-state area, including an extended two-hour version in June for the Freeport Concert Association. The March 5th performance at Stage 72 at the Triad will mark its NYC premiere.
