Gorilla Repertory Theater Company, Inc presents William Shakespeare's classic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream, for a free limited run from June 10 through the 20 in Central Park. The show begins at 8 p.m. at Summit Rock in Central Park (near 83rd St and Central Park West) and as is the Gorilla Rep tradition since its inception in 1992, this performance will be mobile and interactive. Audiences are advised to wear sneakers and/or comfortable shoes.
It's Gorilla Rep's 11th completely free remounting of the Bard's beloved production, which New York Time's critic Ben Brantley called, "a downtown tradition" during its 10-year tenure in Washington Square Park.
Christopher Carter Sanderson, Founding Artistic Director of Gorilla Rep, will direct the two-week uptown production. A graduate of New York University's renowned Tisch School of Drama and the prestigious Yale School of Drama, Christopher Carter Sanderson has over the years worked with some of the theatrical world's most prominent playwrights, as well as teaching at several distinguished dramatic academic institutions in the US.
