Brooklyn-based theater and media company, The Glass Contraption, has assembled a diverse, all-star line up of bands, comedians, comic dancers, filmmakers and variety performers for The Triumphs and Disasters of Human Existence Presented to You, the good people of Brooklyn and the surrounding boroughs!, an evening of comedy, music, theater, film and "new vaudeville", celebrating the highest highs and lowest lows of human experience.

Emceed by comedian/performer, Drae Campbell, the night will feature the musical stylings of NY-based banjo driven folk rock band, Tall Tall Trees (withsinger/songwriter Mike Savino, guitarist Kyle Sanna, bassist Benjamin Campbell,and eccentric percussionist Mathias Kunzli) and fresh off of summer tours opening for Bob Dylan, The Wiyos. Featuring frontman Michael Farkas, The Wiyos are renowned for their vintage sound and vaudevillian stage antics.

The night will also highlight clown-inspired performances by The Glass Contraption (Justine Williams, Catherine Mueller and Andy Grotelueschen); a"sermon" by comedian and amateur love doctor, Jason Quarles, who will be dispensing love advice; a series of short comic films by award-winning video artist, Shannon Plumb; a world premiere screening of a new short film created and performed by The Glass Contraption and directed/edited by Gina Hirsch(You Move Me, audience award winner at OutFest), and more.

The evening's entertainment will take place Sunday, October 3 rd , 2010 at the fabulous Jalopy Theatre (www.jalopy.biz) in Red Hook, Brooklyn, an eclectic venue known for featuring some of the best in old-timey music and performance.A red-carpet ceremony is planned in celebration of the world-premiere of The Glass Contraption's new film, which was filmed on location at the beautiful and historic Jalopy Theatre. Therefore, old-timey formal attire is not required, butenthusiastically encouraged. Expect cigarette girls/boys dispensing lollipops andpopcorn, flashbulbs and a big finale.
