In association with the Midtown International Theater Festival, award-winning writer and director Lori Mannette and producer Haley Swindal present: Over The Hill, a new dark comedy running 50 minutes. The show will play from today, July 31st to August 4th in the Dorothy Strelsin Theater, located at 312 W. 36th Street.
Over the Hill tells the story of Karen, a woman turning 50, who believes she deserves to be recouping the rewards of the life she spent her whole life building. Instead, her husband leaves her, her business fails, and she loses her house, forcing her to go back to college, learn to date, and climb to the top all over again. With the help of her quirky new college-age friend January and a new, young downstairs lover, Karen eventually finds her way back to herself.
The production stars Gina Haver (the Actor's Project) as Karen, as well as Jeryl Costello, Nicholas Wilder, Kate DaRocha, JF Garcia, Camille Giamarino, and Emily Swindal. The production is stage managed by Bethany Briggs.
Showtimes are July 31st at 8pm, August 3rd at 1pm, and August 4th at 3:30pm. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.midtownfestival.org. Tickets are extremely limited so you are encouraged to purchase in advance.

John Chatterton created the MITF in 2000, a Midtown alternative to other theatre festivals, as a way to present the finest Off-Off Broadway talent in convenience, comfort, and safety. In 2003, the MITF moved its activities to their current location, the Theatre Building on W. 36th St., where it has been successfully ensconced since. In 2008 the Festival expanded from two theatres in that building to four, at the WorkShop Theater Company and Abingdon Theatre Company spaces. The MITF's artistic emphasis is on the script itself, and therefore the Festival focuses on effective but minimal production values.
