Dalliance Theater's world premiere of THE GIRL IN THE PARK opens tonight, Wednesday, August 18 at 6:15pm. Playwright Matt Owen's dark romantic comedy will play for only 5 performances at The Players Theatre in Greenwich Village as part of The New York International Fringe Festival, a production of The Present Company.
When Allan's perfect day in the park is interrupted by a chance encounter with a beautiful young woman, his life is instantly ripped open, testing the limits between love, loyalty, family, and unfortunate delusion. Told with humor and truth, Playwright Matt Owen's break-out new work, THE GIRL IN THE PARK, digs into what we find when we look too close at love. THE GIRL IN THE PARK marks Matt Owen's first foray into writing for theater, building on his work as the creative wunderkind behind the cult hit web series EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY. Director Jesca Prudencio (TRACES OF ERUPTION; assistant to Ping Chong's THE DEVIL YOU KNOW, among others) leads an all-star cast including Tom Patrick Stephens (GABRIEL at Atlantic Theater Co), Christy McIntosh (EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL), Burt Grinstead (Pennsylvania Shakespeare's JULIUS CAESAR) and Ana Nogueira (THE BOY IN THE BATHROOM at NYMF). The creative team includes John Jalandoni (Scenic), Jennifer Fisher (Costumes), T. Rick Hayashi (Lighting), Yusuke Namiki (Sound), Kate Freer (Projections), Jennifer Tchiakpe (Fight Choreographer) and Dina Paola Rodriguez (Stage Manager).Videos
