FringeNYC Encore Series Announces Dates & Venues

The 6th Annual FringeNYC Encore Series has announced dates & Venues for shows running September 9 - 26th at The Players Theatre & SoHo Playhouse.

Now in its sixth year, the FringeNYC Encore Series gives theatre lovers another chance at seeing some of the Festival's favorite shows. Beginning September 9th, the FringeNYC Encore Series will present nearly 20 works in rotating repertory at two downtown venues: SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street between 6th Avenue & Varick) and The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal, between Houston & West 3rd Street). Tickets are $18, available beginning August 29th at 866-468-7619 or www.FringeNYC-EncoreSeries.com.

In 17 days, even the most intrepid theatergoer can only sample a small fraction of the nearly 200 offerings at the New York International Fringe Festival. The FringeNYC Encores Series is an annual showcase some of the critically acclaimed and most crowd-pleasing shows from the New York International Fringe Festival. The 2011 series will include PigPen Presents the Mountain Song, The Legend of Julie Taymor, Fourteen Flights, The More Loving One, Facebook Me, Araby, Paper Cut,
You Only Shoot the Ones You Love, Parker & Dizzy's Fabulous Journey to the End Of the Rainbow, Pearl's Gone Blue, Felony Friday, COBU, and several more shows yet to be determined (including the TheaterMania Audience Favorite Award Winner). A complete schedule of performances and showtimes will be announced Sunday, August 28.

The FringeNYC Encore Series was curated by a selection committee is comprised of Darren Lee Cole (SoHo Playhouse), Michael Sgorous (Players Theatre), Jon Johnson (SoHo Playhouse), Brenda Bell (Players Theatre), Scott Morfee (Barrow Street Theatre), Joy Besozzi (Barrow Street Theatre),
Peter Breger (Off Broadway Alliance), Patrick Daly (Jean Doumanian Productions), Shannon K. Hall (Post Works) and TEd Greenberg (actor, The Complete Performer).
