Award-winning PBS writer Slash Coleman and Second City alum and comedian auGi will present the New York premiere of "Big Plastic Heroes" beginning on February 24, 2012 with six shows running through March 3, 2012 at UNDER St. Marks. The production is being presented as part of Frigid New York, a 12 day fringe theatre festival running from Feb 22 - Mar 4 in New York City.
Set against the backdrop of two small towns in the 1980's, "Big Plastic Heroes" features two autobiographical solo-performances by the duo. Each highlights the dangerous (and funny) things that can happen when hyperactive teenagers try to emulate their action hero idols, specifically Evel Knievel and Rambo.
Big Plastic Heroes will take place on February 24th 6:00 pm, February 25th 2:30 pm, Wednesday, February 29th 10:30 pm, March 1st 10:30 pm, March 3rd 5:30 pm, March 4th 2:30 pm at UNDER St Marks (basement level of building) 94 St Marks Place New York, New York 10003 (1st Avenue and Avenue A). Tickets may be purchased online at www.smarttix.com or by calling the box office 212-868-4444. Tickets are $15. A discount is offered to those posting the event on FB or Twitter with #HeroTweets. More information about the production may be found at www.BigPlasticHeroes.com.
