Please join us for the kick off of our One Act Reading Series
With this first round of readings,
The Common themes of loss and moving on; life-after-death, and the hope for a genuine, lasting human connection all emerge through subtle, thought-provoking pieces.
These plays were chosen out of hundreds that were submitted to The Rising Sun Performance Company. Each piece has been read twice before moving on to this round of readings. From the reading series, four or five plays will be chosen for full production this summer.

The Plays:
Delilah by Len Cuthbert
Stand Still by Jae Kramisen
Postpartum by John Bellina
Spinal Alignment by Deborah Yarchun
In the haunting "Sit Still" a woman relives her relationship with her abusive husband while being questioned by a detective; "POSTPARTUM," examines the maternal relationship between a boss and worker, and the emotional consequences when the worker announces he has found a new job; with "Spinal Alignment," questions whether two disconnected people can find a real relationship using an internet dating site, while trying to keep their neurosis -- and spinal columns-- intact; and Len Cuthbert examines the relationship between a young woman dying of cancer, and her closest friend, who will not let her spirit perish in the touching play, "delilah."
