John Forslund & Forslund Theatricals LLC, producers of the first NYC revival of the legendary musical Let My People Come: A Sexual Party Musical Revue, are announcing the extension of the sold-out, eight-week limited engagement hit on the Upper West Side! Previews began February 8 with the official opening on February 14. Performances will continue every Friday at 8pm at the new Underground Theatre, 955 West End Avenue at W. 107th and Broadway. Forslund who staged the landmark musical featuring music and lyrics by Earl Wilson, Jr. will announce the new cast this Friday, March 22nd. The first cast featured Amina Camille, Brian Craft, Christie Dabreau, Daniel Stevens, Diego Rios, Gavin Rohrer, Haley Selmon, James Hansen, John Ryan Del Bosque, Mariel Blatt, and Molly McGivern. Mark T Evans will continue to serve as musical director and Blaine Johnston as the assistant director and company manager.
Let My People Come is one of the highest-grossing and most-attended Off-Broadway musicals to be produced worldwide with the original production running for 1,327 performances at the Village Gate. This new production is re-envisioned as a more interactive party musical. Wilson, Jr. has also revisited the material, which reflects updates and rewrites to cover topics including gay marriage, equality and on-line dating!
