Directed by Terrence Montgomery, Fuel is making its World Premiere at the 12th annual Midtown International Theatre Festival. Elections have been won and lost over fuel; who's got it, who can get it and who can use it to their advantage. Joseph Beck examines these issues in Fuel, a satirical, comedic political fantasia, beginning July 11th at the June Havoc Theatre, located at 312 West 36th Street.
With gas prices soaring, President Barack Obama has come up with a Hail Mary strategy via a secret meeting in Crawford, Texas with some gentlemen from the Middle East. George W. Bush and Bill Clinton will be heading the negotiations, if they can just get there on time. As voters angrily vent their frustrations, Obama is concerned about a second term, Dubya has daddy issues and Bill just wants the waitress's phone number. Meanwhile a Secret Service agent is having an emotional meltdown, the ghost of Ronald Reagan is offering advice, and Hillary is trying to focus on illegal immigration while Laura and Michelle just want to get through lunch. Can the energy crisis be solved before another oil rig explodes or Dick Cheney shoots someone else in the face?

The cast of Fuel features Julia Kwamya, Michael Blair, Michael Medori, Lindsay Arbor, Charles Uffelman, Almog Pail, Lily Cohen, Tom Watson and Patrick Murney.
Joseph Beck's plays include Thanksgiving, A Birthday Party, Don't Leave Tracks, Murderous Huntington and Saddam The Musical. He has also written three novels, over a dozen short stories and numerous published articles. His latest book, Against The Odds, is a memoir whose research took him to Miami, Panama and Costa Rica.
Terrence Montgomery has directed over twenty-five plays in New York, including the works of Chekhov, Shakespeare, Moliere, and Samuel Beckett. As an actor he has appeared off-Broadway in such productions as In the Boom Boom Room, The Zoo Story, Waiting for Godot and The Seagull. Current directing projects include the farce Problem with English by Tim McGillicuddy and the musical This Life, based on the play Hobson's Choice.
The Midtown International Theatre Festival, now in its twelfth year, celebrates the diversity of theatre.
