A timeless classic, Fiddler on the Roof features a score by Jerry Bock (music) and Sheldon Harnick (lyrics), with a book by Joseph Stein and based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem. Fiddler on the Roof is filled with the themes of tradition, family, love, marriage, regret and optimism represented through honest and funny characters. Trying to balance life - like a fiddler on a roof - Tevye, a poor dairyman, attempts to preserve his family's traditions in a changing world. Tevye's daughter wants to marry a poor tailor instead of the middle-aged butcher her father has chosen for her in the tradition of arranged marriages. Tevye is forced to choose between his daughter's happiness and his culture's beloved tradition in this universal story of hope, love and acceptance. This stunning, joyful and jubilant musical masterpiece includes "Tradition," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "If I Were a Rich Man," and "Sunrise, Sunset."
