F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, joins acclaimed partner companies EST/Youngblood, Naked Angels, Studio 42, and Waterwell at The Green Building in Brooklyn with GAP Presents! The Green Plays, five new short plays by Hanna Cheek/Lauren Cregor Devine/Rodney Gardiner/Kevin Townley (Waterwell/ Goodbar), Meaghan Deans (Studio 42/ Ashore, Internet Famous), Jason Kim (Naked Angels/ HBO's Girls), Victor Lesniewski (F*It Club/ Cloven Tongues), and Chris Sullivan (EST/Youngblood/ Metro Cards).

Join Gowanus Art + Production (GAP) and co-producer Allyson Morgan for an exciting evening featuring original music by acclaimed house band The Lobbyists (Seawife), five commissioned plays specifically for the Green Building from some of New York's most notable up-and-coming theater companies (EST/Youngblood, F*It Club, Naked Angels, Studio 42, and Waterwell), and a FREE after-party to mix and mingle on our beautiful outdoor patio.

This is the first event of its kind, where theater companies primarily based in Manhattan are coming together in the spirit of community and exploration to collaborate on a single evening of cohesive work, and share that work with a Brooklyn audience.

BIOS:

Gowanus Art + Production is the Art Division of the Gowanus Hospitality Group, a for-profit umbrella company, and home to The Green Building, 501 Union, and the Sky Gallery. Gowanus Art + Production began in the winter of 2013 with the purpose of providing innovative space for art to happen throughout the Gowanus Hospitality Group venues. Co-Producer: Allyson Morgan is an actress, writer, producer, Columbus, Ohio native, and graduate of The Ohio State University. In addition, she is currently the Associate Director of the Waterwell Summer Theater Lab and founder /Executive Director of film and theatre collective F*It Club. Most recently, she has been seen onstage with F*It Club, Amios, EST/Youngblood, Studio 42, NY Fringe Festival and New York Theatre Experiment, and in recurring roles last season on "Hostages" and "Law and Order: SVU." Additionally, she was just named one of five winners in the Bombay Sapphire Imagination Series; her short film Need For Speed (Dating) premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2014. The Lobbyists: House Band

The Lobbyists formed in 2012 when Tommy, Will, Eloise, Alex and Tony started playing music in the lobby of the Flea Theater as a nightly pre-show set during These Seven Sicknesses, in which the five founding members were acting. Their inventive songwriting, charismatic performance, and fresh sound were a hit, and the band was born. EST/Youngblood

Youngblood is Ensemble Studio Theatre's OBIE-winning collective of emerging professional playwrights under the age of 30. Founded in 1993, Youngblood serves as a creative home for the next generation of theater artists. Youngblood provides artistic guidance, peer support, regular feedback and a fertile production environment which allows our member playwrights to hone their skills and explore their craft. We also provide exposure to the public and the press, professional outreach to the industry, and opportunities for production and publication. Plays by current and former Youngblood playwrights have been performed at The Royal Court Theatre, Lincoln Center, Playwrights Horizons, Second Stage, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Mark Taper Forum, the Vineyard Theater, the Atlantic Theater Company and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.

F*It Club

F*It Club, a film and theater production company, was founded in 2010 by Executive Director Allyson Morgan and a collective of actors, writers, directors, producers, and filmmakers. The goal of the company is to provide access and opportunity with immediacy and to bridge the gap between recorded and live entertainment. Naked Angels

Naked Angels is committed to strengthening a community of theater artists through the development and production of relevant new work. Each year they serve artists through our Core Programming: The 3-Step Formula, Naked Radio, 3Thursdays, and full-scale production. Studio 42

Studio 42, launched in 2001, is devoted to producing the "unproducible." The word is ripped straight out of rejection letters from theaters all over the country. Armed with adventurous directors and designers, Studio 42 sets out to prove that a project worth realizing can be realized. Recent productions have included Ken Urban's Wasps, Bekah Brunstetter's Miss Lilly Gets Boned, Gregory S. Moss' Billy Witch, Adam Szymkowicz's My Base and Scurvy Heart, Nick Jones and Rachel Shukert's The Sporting Life, Michael Mitnick's Spacebar, and our annual Unproducible Smackdown in which writers compete through an evening of short plays to win the title of New York's most unproducible playwright.

Waterwell

Waterwell is an ensemble of theater artists dedicated to the creation of new plays, musicals and the bold re-interpretations of the classics. Founded in 2002, the company's unique blend of drama and vaudeville has been nominated for three IT awards, a Drama Desk, a New York Magazine Culture Award and a Village Voice Best of NYC. The Voice calls them, "dynamic, resourceful and relentlessly entertaining." And TheaterScene says, "There's no way a written description can do justice to their blazing energy and inventiveness." The NY Times hails the work as, "brilliant, original and inspired...alive enough to surprise even the performers themselves."
