"Think of a kaleidoscope's saturated and seamless, dazzling light perfectly symmetrical and precise in its geometry, endlessly changing. Forever. is a dance for four people performed in a large luminous white circle with the audience peering into its patterned multi-colored world while listening to the bumpy vocal loopings of Lumberob," describe press notes.

FOREVER is Performed by Christopher Hutchings, Kate Martel, Stephanie Miracle & Laura Peterson; Music by Lumberob; Lighting design by Mandy Ringger.

Dixon Place has served over 10,000 artists in its 22-year history, and has been a springboard for the careers of numerous writers and performers. Acclaimed artists such as John Leguizamo and Blue Man Group presented their first shows at Dixon Place, while others like David Cale, Yoshiko Chuma, Jane Comfort, Douglas Dunn, Holly Hughes, John Kelly, Lisa Kron, Deb Margolin, Reno, Peggy Shaw, and Wallace Shawn have utilized DP as an incubator for their latest works. The Laura Peterson performance will be the first artist to debut in the new Dixon Place theater at 161 Chrystie Street.  A series of official gala events and dedication ceremonies are being planned to take place in the coming months.

Dixon Place’s new theater, which was made possible by a successful $5.6 million capital campaign, has been designed by Charles Gifford of Meyer + Gifford, who also designed the New Victory, the Joyce Theatre, and the Harvey at BAM. It is a fully flexible facililty with lighting, sound, and video equipment; internet connectivity and a direct feed into the recording studio directly above the mainstage theater; a lounge that includes an auxiliary stage; and a subsidized rehearsal studio.

The multi-purpose lounge will serve as a meeting place for artists and audiences that will include a bar and an auxiliary stage and will serve as a community center by day, housing free senior and youth theatre workshops.  The main stage theater features state-of-the-art technology, truly flexible stage layouts, and rigging for flight.  The bi-level design includes dressing rooms, restrooms, technical and storage areas and flexible seating for up to 130 audience members.  This will be the first facility of its kind in New York City dedicated to supporting emerging artists
