Landmark on Main Street welcomes Dennis Elsas, longtime NY radio personality, rock historian and master storyteller, to the Jeanne Rimsky Theater tonight, April 16 at 8 PM. His multi-media show, Rock'N'Roll Never Forgets, is a must-see for anyone who remembers the first time they heard Dennis' inimitable voice on WNEW-FM.
For more than 40 years, Dennis Elsas has been one of the most influential voices in FM radio. During that time Elsas has interviewed rock legends including John Lennon, Elton John, Jerry Garcia, Pete Townshend and more. In Rock'N'Roll Never Forgets, he presents highlights from these interviews, along with rarely seen film, video and audio together with his personal insights.
These days, Dennis is heard every weekday afternoon (2-6PM) on New York's WFUV (90.7 FM, and streaming at WFUV.org). With an eclectic mix of rock, folk, jazz and blues and guests in the studio that have included Elvis Costello, Ben Folds, Patti Smith, Edie Brickell and Ringo Starr, Dennis continues the tradition of progressive radio he helped to create. You can also catch Dennis on Sirius/XM's Classic Vinyl (26) every Saturday and Sunday, where he shares his Classic Rock knowledge and memories with a worldwide audience. In addition to his on-air work Dennis is also the "Voice of Rock History" at the Museum at Bethel Woods and a leading voice-over artist for documentary films and commercials.
Tickets for Rock'N'Roll Never Forgets are available through Landmark's Box Office, 516-767-6444 or online at www.landmarkonmainstreet.org. All seats $27 (Friends $25)*.
