Dialogue with Three Chords (D3C) will present A CHRISTMAS BESTIARY on Thursday, November 29, at 8pm downstairs at Von Bar on 3 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10012. Admission is free, with a $5 suggested donation to Transgender Law Center. Acoustic Riot Grrrl Punk band Dolltits will perform. The series of short performances, written by Stephen Gracia and directed by Michael LoPorto, find characters at different crossroad points within their lives and feature a variety of mythical holiday monsters.

A CHRISTMAS BESTIARY is a collection of plays that fill the holiday season with monsters. It includes "No True Places," where a mythological creature, and tips on how to survive the holidays, are revealed on a first date between two high schoolers. In "The Mari Lwyd," a horse skeleton appears at a home on Christmas Eve to challenge a young woman to a rhyming contest. "The Wendigo" finds an estranged couple are trapped in a basement over Christmas, where their past together threatens to devour them. "The Ijiraq" explores how holiday depression is its own country, and what happens to those who get lost in its winter wonderland.

A CHRISTMAS BESTIARY features the music of Dolltits, whose work was featured in The New York Times. All proceeds from the show will benefit Transgender Law Center, who are "the largest national trans-led organization advocating self-determination for all people," according to the organization, who work to change "law, policy, and attitudes" so "all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression."

Gracia and LoPorto co-founded D3C at Mr. Dennehy's in 2011. Previous D3C shows have featured musicians, poets, and burlesque performers. They've also partnered with local independent theatre groups such as BrooklynONE to produce innovative and challenging free theatre in New York City.

A CHRISTMAS BESTIARY features: Daniel Batista, Rose Bonczek, Kyle Flores, Gaby Fraser, Cristina Pitter, and Mickey Ryan.
