Crowded Outlet Presents BEEP BOOP at HERE This September Image

Crowded Outlet announces its next production, beep boop, a multimedia clown show created by physical comedian Richard Saudek (Balls at 59E59), TV and film composer Jesse Novak ("BoJack Horseman," "The Mindy Project") and director Wes Grantom (Lone Star Spirits, Eager to Lose). beep boop will play a limited engagement at HERE (145 6th Ave, New York, NY 10013; enter on Dominick, 1 Block South of Spring), performing Thursday September 6th through Sunday, September 30th. The Opening is Saturday, September 8th.

A dark and whimsical tour-de-farce inspired equally by silent-era masters and vaudevillian peculiarity, beep boop is a twisted romp that explores our obsession with technology and our increasing loneliness in a world with so many ways to connect.

beep boop has costume design by Maddie Peterson (The Older Brother's Almanac), lighting and projection design by Driscoll Otto (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at Drury Lane Theatre), sound design and foley by Drama Desk nominee Brendan Aanes (Balls), and features foley artist Nora Kaye (Balls).

beep boop will be performed at HERE (145 6th Ave, New York, NY 10013; enter on Dominick, 1 Block South of Spring) Thursday September 6th through Sunday, September 30th. The Opening is Sunday, September 8th. The performance schedule is Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7pm with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2pm.

Tickets to beep boop are priced at $25.00 and are available now online at http://here.org/shows/detail/2014/# or by calling 212-352-3101.

Richard Saudek (Creator, Performer) grew up in Vermont making faces at himself in the mirror while he brushed his teeth. He ran off at the tender age of ten to perform in Circus Smirkus for a number of years as a young clown studying under Rob Mermin (who is a mentee of Marcelle Marceau and Etienne Decroux, which makes Richard a dementee). He left the circus at the ripe old age of sixteen to pursue other forms of performativity. He has been a member of One Year Lease Theater Co. since 2011, and teaches clown to undergraduate theater students in Northern Greece each summer with OYL. His New York theatre credits include - Eager To Lose (Ars Nova); Balls, Stockholm, Wolves (59E59); pool (no water) (Barrow St Theatre); Evelyn (The Bushwick Starr); Oedipus After Colonus (HERE); Breath on the Mirror (LaMama); What We Know, The Killing Room (Teatro Circulo); Dream of Me (The Player's Theatre); Regarding Hot Air Balloons (IRT); The Mandrake (Pearl Theatre Company). Regional: Balls (Stages Rep); Salome (Shakespeare Theater Company, seven Helen Hayes Awards), Trouble Tales for Boys and Girls, The Way to Wealth (Williamstown Theater Festival); pool (no water) (American Repertory Theater).
