This summer, Cosmic Jello is pleased to present "Punk Grandpa," directed by Emmi Hilger, as part of the 6th Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Festivity will take place June 15th through July 12th at the Paradise Factory.
"Punk Grandpa" is the story of how Laura Force Scruggs did not fit in with her family and how her grandpa taught her it was okay to be different/who she is. The show takes place over one magical weekend when Laura was 5 3/4 years old and portrays her grandpa's humor and uninhibited approach to life. The play is expressed through storytelling, music, dance, vintage family photos and film clips and a little bit of puppetry.
"Punk Grandpa" will star Laura Force Scruggs as herself and an assortment of other characters.
"Punk Grandpa" will feature direction by Emmi Hilger, choreography by Laura Thoma, and lighting design by Bruce A! Kraemer. The stage manager is Lauren Arneson.
"Punk Grandpa" plays the following schedule as part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity: Friday June 19 at 9pm, Saturday June 20 at 3pm and Sunday June 21 at 6:45pm. Proceeds will be donated to Alzheimer's Association New York City Chapter.
