ZOMBIE JOE'S UNDERGROUND THEATRE GROUP has begun celebrating Halloween early this fall with is bloody new theatrical experience called URBAN DEATH currently playing late night weekend performances at The Players Theatre in Greenwich Village.
The award-winning LA-based ZOMBIE JOE'S UNDERGROUND THEATRE GROUP is currently presenting its new production of "URBAN DEATH" at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street (at Minetta Lane) for an open-ended run. The performance schedule is: Thursday @ 11 PM; Friday and Saturday @ 11 PM & 12:30 AM. All seats are $30 and are available via
www.theatermania.com or (212) 352-3101. Discounts are available for Groups, Seniors and Students. Note this production is R-Rated and not suitable for children under 14.
Zombie Joe himself describes "URBAN DEATH" as "a terrifying new production of inexplicable horrors, unfathomable monstrosities and the disturbed spirits that walk among us! The lights come up on a pile of grotesquely intertwined corpses in a mass grave. As the dead turn into zombies, you see over 30 horrifying vignettes in just under 60 minutes. Be warned: Blood will be spilled and guts will be a-flyin' in this R-rated scare-fest."
The performance is a visual and sensual experience with no dialogue so it is appropriate for non-English speaking theatre-goers. The horrific display serves up torture and madness in the company's 'bloody-shoestring' style of stylized physicality and strange soundscapes from an original score by Christopher Reiner with additional music by Stephen Cohn
URBAN DEATH has been produced and directed by Zombie Joe. The cast includes Denise Devin, Amanda Dieli, Mark Hein, Russell Lewis, Brian Morgan, Geoff Parish, Jonica Patella, Erikka Walsh, Lisa Warternberg and Jana Wimer.
