Casting Announced For Joust Theatre Company's WRITER'S ROUND TABLE Image

As previously announced, The Joust Theatre Company will present four new plays as part of the Writer's Round Table 2018. These plays are the result of a 9-month developmental process with four playwrights (Gina Femia, Matthew Minnicino, Gina Stevensen, and Jacob Marx Rice) whose work challenges and/or reimagines systemic norms.

The Joust Theatre Company is proud to announce casting of ALLOND(R)A and Some Pictures of the Floating World. These plays will run in rotating repertory at the Playwrights Downtown Black Box Theatre (440 Lafayette) from June 6 - June 9th.

ALLOND(R)A,written by Gina Femia and directed by Taylor Reynolds, will feature: Ren Dara Santiago (Allonda), Danny Hidalgo (Spider), Diane Chen (Tay), Jehan O. Young (Justice), David Littleton (Mike), Tarik Davis (King), & Chris Rivera (Pretzel)

ALLOND(R)A tells the story of Allonda and her friends as they wrestle their way through the summer- sometimes it's on the playgrounds in the projects of Coney Island, sometimes it's with their feelings and often it's at home. A coming of age story about friendship and heartache, ALLOND(R)Aasks how much is too much to fight for?

Some Pictures of the Floating World, written by Matt Minnicino and directed by Ilana Khanin, will feature: Abby Awe (The Stranger), Amanda Centeno (Shiloh), Marlowe Holden (Tirzah), Artem Kreimer (Gath) & James Swanson (Gilead).

Shiloh is happy. She and her friends in the Word of Joy do nothing but live, love, tell truths, and dream of the day when they will be called up to the Floating World. But when a stranger arrives, full of words from a world they've tried to forget, Shiloh and the others must consider for the first time if they're as happy as they seem. A play about cults, stories, joy, sadness, truth, lies, and why we believe the things we believe.

Both productions are Stage Managed by Anna Aschliman.

Some Pictures of the Floating World will perform June 6th& 8that 7:30pm. ALLOND(R)A will perform June 7th& 9that 7:30pm. Tickets are now on sale and available at https://juneroundtable.brownpapertickets.com
