Kids all ages can cheer on Little Red Riding Hood as she escapes once again the big bad Wolf on January 22, 23, and 29 at the Bruckner Restaurant, 1 Bruckner Blvd., in the Bronx. The show will begin at 2 p.m.

Galli's Little Red Riding Hood is the fairy tale story of a little girl who is seduced by a mean and witty wolf, and then devoured. Little Red engages its audience in song, dance, and comedy along her journey to grandmother's house. The Wolf is almost likable, and definitely funny when he asks the kids to howl along and to help him find Little Red. In Galli's uplifting adaptation as well as in the original Brother Grimm's story, she has to wait in the dark belly reunited with her grandmother, who has also been swallowed, until the hunter comes and frees them both. In this time of darkness hope is the only thing that keeps them both alive. "This musical telling of this fairy tale encourages children to express their feelings, never give up hope and overcome their fears," said Tatjana Maya MD, Director of the Galli Theater.

Playwright, clown, and director Johannes Galli has been bringing fairy tales to kids for almost 25 years. Believing that fairy tales are healing for children, he uses the original story but changes the "grim" version into a humorous play that entertains kids and adults alike and has a fun and educating message in the end. "Fairy tales go beyond religious, cultural, and literary developments and are still relevant in today's society," said Johannes Galli. "At Galli Theater it's our mission to help children and adults to reconnect to the ancient wisdom of these tales and myths."

Performances will be held January 22, 23, and 29 at 2 p.m.  The show will be presented at Bruckner Restaurant, 1 Bruckner Boulevard, South Bronx, NY 10454. For easy access, take the 6 train to 138th Street/Third Avenue.
