BrooklynONE productions (bkONE) and Dialogue with Three Chords (D3C) team up to present "The Funeral Rites of Country Western Superstars" from playwright Stephen Gracia for brooklynONE's April Reading Series installment. "Funeral Rites..." includes three plays from Gracia and new material written especially for this event, directed by Anthony Marino and Michael LoPorto. The performance is on April 18th at 8pm at LoneStar Bar at 8703 5th Avenue, Brooklyn. Admission is free and donations are welcome. A live performance by singer Tommy Lombardozzi will open the evening's events.
"D3C is a theatre collective that produces staged readings of fresh material," says Stephen Gracia, D3C co-founder and playwright. "Often written the same month it is performed, and with actors that are talented & dedicated enough to be on their feet, scripts in hand after only one rehearsal."

Each month brooklynONE produces a reading series at LoneStar Bar featuring new works by playwrights from around the city aiming to diversify and expand the area's artistic palette.
'The Funeral Rites of Country Western Superstars' features Kendra Leigh Landon, Samantha Braga, and Lauren McElroy. 'A Marriage of a Stone to a Tree' features John Harlacher and Kendra Leigh Landon.
'My Love is in Amerikay' features John Panepinto, Guy Michaels, JD Urban, Stephen Fontana, Anthony Noto, Mylene Savoie, Matt Sydney and Rafael Svarin. 'How Will the Dead Remember Us'features Anton Koval and John Harlacher.BrooklynONE productions was founded in 2006 as a haven for new, bold, alternative and experimental works. With a focus on ensemble work, the artistic process and community activism BrooklynONE continues to cultivate thought provoking works and mentor new and emerging artists of all ages and levels. BrooklynONE keeps a residence in South Brooklyn, having had their works produced through out Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Dialogue with Three Chords was founded in 2011 by Stephen Gracia and Michael LoPorto and applies the do-it-yourself philosophy of punk to the stage and features short plays and live music. Their work has also been produced at Sargent Theatre, Makor Theater, DUMBO Theatre Exchange, Levenson Hall at Brooklyn College, and the Theaters at 45 Bleecker.
