Outstanding Ensemble nominee at the 2014 New York Innovative Theatre Awards, Broken Box Mime Theater (BKBX) presents the World premiere of TOPOGRAPHY. Directed by Becky Baumwoll and the Company, previews begin tonight, September 25 at The Wild Project. Opening night is slated for Monday, September 29.
TOPOGRAPHY is a evening of new and repertory works by Broken Box Mime. Pieces range from realistic to metaphorical, heart-wrenching to hilarious, cinematic to intimate and almost everything in between. The evening will feature pieces including:
• Fortune Teller: When a fortune teller foresees a grim future for one young woman, all comes into question, and she takes on the impossible task of changing the inevitable.
• Zoo: When a child visits the gorilla cage at the zoo, she makes an unexpected
connection.
• Dungeons & Dragons: Follow three tweens as they play their favorite role-playing game. Root for your favorite player as they traverse swamps, mountains, caves, and everything in
between, as we pay tribute to our own bygone awkward years.
TOPOGRAPHY stars Tasha Milkman, Dinah Berkeley, Marissa Molnar,
Leah Wagner, Geraldine Dulex,
David Jenkins,
Joel Perez,
Matt Zambrano, and Joshua Wynter. The production features sound by Paul Baisley and lighting by
Jamie Roderick

Broken Box Mime Theater (BKBX) is a collaborative group of artists who tell original stories through mime technique. Without the use of props, sets, costumes, or words, BKBX tells stories only using their bodies. The Company mission is threefold: to activate the imagination of audiences, contemporize the art of mime, and remind us all of the power of simple storytelling. BKBX has performed evening-length shows at Walkerspace, New York International Fringe Festival, The Kraine, and the
June Havoc Theater at Abingdon, as well as appearances at The PIT, TADA! Theater, and Amios' SHOTZ! Festival, and several short films. BKBX also operates a wildly popular series of workshops in the art of silent storytelling, including a residency with the 52nd Street Project Teen Ensemble.
TOPOGRAPHY runs tonight, September 25 - October 19, Thursday - Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm with an added opening night performance on Monday Sept. 29 at 8pm. The Wild Project is located at 195 E. 3rd Street b/w Aves A. & B. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, available at
