Boomerang's LOVELESS TEXAS to Receive Private Industry Reading 10/20

Boomerang Theatre Company (Tim Errickson, Artistic Director) is pleased to continue the artistic development of LOVELESS TEXAS, the new musical from Boomerang Associate Artistic Director Cailín Heffernan and composer Henry Aronson. LOVELESS TEXAS will receive an invitation-only industry reading in New York City on Thursday October 20th.

LOVELESS TEXAS tells the story of two brothers in Depression-era Texas who, shaken by the accidental death of their parents, bury themselves: one in hard work, the other in relentless partying. Economic hard times force them into confrontation, but romance and music teach the brothers to open their hearts to reconciliation. Set to a lively Americana-flavored score, LOVELESS TEXAScelebrates the joy of finding the heart's true home.

LOVELESS TEXAS will have its' world premiere production as part of Boomerang's 2017 season.

The reading cast includes Ryan Andes (Broadway's Big Fish), Joey Auzenne, Michael Castillejos(Careless Love at American Repertory Theatre), Brett Dameron, Rob Evan (Broadway's Jekyll & Hyde), Kimberly JuJuan (Marie Christine at Lincoln Center Theater), Trisha Jeffrey (Broadway's Rent, All Shook Up), Aaron LaVigne (Broadway's Spiderman), Amanda Lea LaVergne (Grease, Bring It On), Hannah Jane McMurray, Monique St. Cyr and Lilly Tobin (Grease at Walnut Street Theater)

Henry Aronson (Music/Lyrics) is among the most in-demand music directors in the Broadway theatre. He was the music director/conductor/keyboardist for the Broadway run of Rock of Ages. Also on Broadway, he was music director for Grease, The Times They Are A-Changin', In My Life, Little Shop of Horrors, Rent, Rocky Horror Show and Starmites. Off-Broadway, he conducted King Lear (Public Theater, starring Kevin Kline), 3 Guys Naked From the Waist Down (Minetta Lane), and numerous productions at Playwrights Horizons and Naked Angels. His adaptation and new orchestration of Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance for Daryl Gray's dance theatre piece Pirates! has been performed successfully around the world and has been optioned for Broadway. He is also the composer of The Happy Hooker: The Musical (prod. InJoy Entertainment), currently working towards a production in London's West End.

CAILíN HEFFERNAN (Libretto/Director) is the Associate Artistic Director of Boomerang Theatre Company. She has directed eleven Boomerang productions: Shakespeare's Cymbeline and Love's Labour's Lost, Jeffrey Hatcher's To Fool The Eye, Stoppard's The Real Thing (NYITAward Nominations, including Most Outstanding Remount), Fry's Venus Observed, Larry Kirwan's The Heart Has a Mind of its' Own, Williams' Summer and Smoke, her own adaptation of Dryden's All For Love, two of O'Neill's Pulitzer prize winning plays - Anna Christie and Beyond The Horizon, as well as Francis Kuzler's The Substance of John. She has directed regionally at New Jersey Rep, Penguin Rep and Texas Family Musicals, where she was previously Resident Director. She is also the book writer and director of the new musical Vanity Fells, which has music and lyrics by Steven Jamail.

Established in 1999, THE BOOMERANG THEATRE COMPANY is an award-winning Indie Theatre company dedicated to producing new, classic and neglected plays that add to the vibrancy of the national theatre canon. Recent productions include Shakespeare's Cymbeline, Love's Labour's Lost and A Midsummer Night's Dream in parks throughout New York City; the world premiere of Johnna Adams' Lickspittles, Buttonholers and Damned Pernicious Go-Betweens at Teatro Circulo; and full seasons at TheatreLab NYC, The Secret Theatre in Long Island City and The Connelly Theatre. Boomerang was the 2008 recipient of the Caffe Cino Fellowship for Consistent Production of Outstanding Work in Off-Off-Broadway. Nominated for 8 New York Innovative Theater Awards, receiving 2.
