Broadway's Blair Baker (Oleanna, Broadway and Mark Taper Forum), stars in a new one-woman show When it Ended the First Time, at the 2012 Emerging Artists Theatre New Work series, Thursday March 8th, 9pm. Written by Zac Kline (Messed Up Here Tonight, Big Star California), directed by Matthew Klein (The Mekka Collective) and Produced by NYC's Missing Bolts Productions.
Resonating with emotional honesty, this moving show follows a young woman Jane (Baker) on a turbulent afternoon in New York City. From the East Village to the halls of Bellevue to the Upper East Side, the show explores the depths of what it means to be young, in love and confused in New York.
When it Ended the First Time is the second one-woman show collaboration for Zac Kline and
Blair Baker. Their other show, Big Star California, was first presented at last year's Emerging Artists Theatre New Work series and received a sold out run at the 2011 Philadelphia Live Arts/ Philly Fringe Festival.
Blair Baker other recent credits include Bus Stop at Kansas City Rep directed by Steve Cosson, Summit Avenue at the 2011 Figment Festival (Village Voice's Best Arts Festival of 2011), Messed Up Here Tonight, Much Ado About Nothing with NY Classical Theatre, and The Footage at
The Flea Theater.
Zac Kline's credits include a sold-out run of his site-specific play Messed Up Here Tonight in New York City last winter at and Together This Time at the New York International Fringe,
Lucille Lortel Theatre.
Matthew Klein is the founder and Artistic Director of The Mekka Collective, producing festivals and workshops all over NYC since 2008. He is also currently the Artistic Associate with
The New Group.
