Bethe Austin (Broadway's Sly Fox, Onward Victoria!) will join the Beautiful Soup Theater on March 23rd, 2013 as they celebrate the songbook of Charles Strouse (Rags, Annie, Applause, Bye, Bye, Birdie!). All proceeds from this one-night-only concert will be Beautiful Soup's revival of the Strouse, Schwartz and Stein musical Rags.

Audiences at the concert can expect to hear favorites from Bye, Bye, Birdie! and Annie along with some lesser-known pieces from Dance A Little Closer, Mayor, Annie Warbucks and a cut song from Rags. Additionally, the evening will feature a detailed look at the extraordinary, 50 plus year career of Charles Strouse.

Artistic Director Steven Carl McCasland and Jordon Cunningham (Rags Musical Director) are at the piano. They are joined by Bethe Austin (Broadway's Sly Fox, Onward Victoria!, Whoopee!, Raggedy Ann), Avital Asuleen (Rags Choreographer), Marc Castle, Salvatore Casto, Barnaby Edwards, Erin Elizabeth Eichhorn (Bella in Rags), Janet Fanale (National Tour of Forbidden Broadway), Kathryn Francisco, Christopher Leidenfrost (Nathan in Rags), Anna Kirkland (Rebecca in Rags) Samantha Mercado-Tudda, Cara Picone, Kim Rogers, Ellyn Stein and Amanda Szymczak.

Tickets for the one-night-only concert are $20 ($15 for students with valid I.D.), and are available at the door (cash only) beginning one hour prior to curtain. Reservations are strongly recommended as seating is limited. To reserve tickets, e-mail beautifulsouptheater@gmail.com your name. The TAI Group is located on the 14th floor of 150 West 30th Street [Between 6th and 7th Avenues). The performance venue is handicapped accessible.

Rags is the triumphant story of Rebecca Herkshowitz's journey to The Golden Land, America, at the turn of the century. Beautiful Soup's production will open at The Connelly Theatre on May 29th, 2013. Tickets for Rags are on sale now at http://beautifulsoup.showclix.com.
