After a decade of shows at UCB, Magnet, The PIT, and countless bars and venues around New York City, Beauty Love Truth's elegant format of "improv inspired by music" takes it up a notch at Barrow Street Theatre. Barrow has already been elevating the status of longform improvisation by hosting groups such as TJ & Dave and Beauty Love Truth is thrilled to be a part of that.

Guest musicians provide the material for sets of improvised scenes. Nothing is pre-planned: relationships will be sweetly or tragically transformed, worlds will be created or destroyed,
souls enlightened or crushed, and magic truths underscored with laughter.

Featuring the music of Joe McGinty, who is the creator of Loser's Lounge and keyboardist
for Psychedelic Furs, They Might be Giants, Nada Surf and more. He will be joined by brass multi-instrumentalist Michael McGinnis and Dewanatronics' Leon Dewan.

Joe McGinty says: "These evenings are a hoot! I play my songs, and then talented improvisers
create sketches inspired by the music. A must see!"

This show is co-produced and co-directed by Shannon Manning and Louie Pearlman, who
explains, "I was Shannon's student and Beauty Love Truth was unique, theatrical, and always
very inspiring to me. Then I taught Beauty Love Truth to my students and now get to work with
the incredible artists in our pool of improvisers, who always play their best because of their respect for the music."

Creator Shannon Manning explains, "Beauty Love Truth was a response to the tragedy and general malaise a decade ago in New York. The title came from an attempt to distill 'What is the Point of Anything Anyway' into three words. You kinda need to shout it to the sky when you say it. Also it's a way to explore the images some of us see when we watch live music, and celebrate one another's art." Shannon has worked with some of the best musicians in the world, especially in her work for the Mingus Big Band.

Introduced by David Rees who will speak on the topic of beauty, love, and/or truth. He is the author of "Get Your War On" and proprietor of Artisanal Pencil Sharpening. @letsgetshort
