On Wednesday, August 31 the monthly sketch comedy group Beaches 2 will present their best sketches from the past ten months. Featuring special guest, hilarious stand up comedian Kristeen von Hagen! The show, presented by Horse Trade Theater Group will play at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A) at 9pm. Tickets ($5) are available at the door.

Every last Wednesday of the month, Beaches 2 has been bringing you a brand new hour-long sketch comedy show! Each month they choose a different theme and write thousands of jokes on that topic. Past topics include farts, the holidays, John Travolta, pageants, after-school specials, and bad mommies. Beaches 2: sketch comedy for best friends.

KRISTEEN VON HAGEN has been hailed as one of the Top 30 Power Women in Canada by Elle Magazine and is now one of the warm-up people for the Nate Berkus Show, shooting in NYC airing on CBS. She just taped her 3rd Just for Laughs Gala in Montreal this past summer. Kristeen recently appeared on the Showtime stand-up comedy show Comedy Without Borders and has also been seen on Premium Blend on Comedy Central. She also just completed a stint as the head writer on the CBC show Test the Nation. Kristeen won three Canadian Comedy Awards - Best Female Stand-up, Best Comedic Play and Best Writing for a TV special. This year she is once again nominated for Best Female Stand-up.

Formerly of comedic twin sister act, The O'Debra Twins, she was the co-host of the popular open mic SHOW AND TELL at The Bowery Poetry Club for five years. Miss O'Debra was the co-writer of Fuck You or Dead Pee-holes; an American Tale in 13 Acts, which won the top award at Fringe NYC. She recently starred as the Evil Queen in the New Acting Company's production of Snow White.

MARY CROSBIE is from Canada. She loves cats more than some people. She has done many commercials, one time with Martin Scorsese, another time with Danica Patrick. She has been doing comedy for many years. She does a cable access show in Manhattan called "The Moe and Mary Show" every Friday at 6pm.

BOB & TOBLY McSMITH are two disease-carrying monkeys that should probably be quarantined. They have been nominated for a cornucopia of honors including: Class Favorite (Tobly, 5th Grade), Class Masturbator (Bob, 1st-12th Grade), and most recently: Most Likely to Be Arrested on a Playground. Bob and Tobly have one cat that has been dead for two years, wrote and directed two "successful" off-Broadway "plays" based on TV's Saved by the Bell, and are webmasters of the rarely updated and highly offensive: prettyponyparty.com.

BEN LERMAN is the composer and host for Beaches 2! f the "Flight of the Conchords" and Stephen Lynch had a gay lovechild, it would be NYC's ukulele comedian Ben Lerman. Ben plays his solo comedy concert of original, twisted songs all over the country. You can hear him regularly on the Keith and the Girl podcast and on the Frank DeCaro Show on Sirius Radio. Please look at him and listen to him at benlerman.net. "Hilarious... Lerman is an extremely talented singer-songwriter." -Fringe Guru, Edinburgh
