You Don't Know My Life, Ni Mi Madre is about a young queer man and his larger than life immigrant mother who claims that if it weren't for Madonna, Meryl Streep, and Angelina Jolie she would have been the "IT" thing. Tragedy sends the two on a journey into their past and little by little they must unravel the disappointments that tear them apart and the lineage that binds them together. Through humor and storytelling You Don't Know My Life, Ni Mi Madre explores identity, gender, culture, family, love, forgiveness and what it means to be a mother and son.
