Dixon Place presents the incredible true story of Dr. Bernice "Bunny" Sandler. Almost 50 years ago, Bunny filed the lawsuit that turned into Title IX and made sex discrimination illegal in higher education. In this one-woman show, Rora Brodwin, Bunny's great niece, tells her story. Bunny, The Godmother of IX will be performed for one night only at Dixon Place in NYC on March 14th at 7:30pm.
"As we continue to grapple with #MeToo, the Kavanaugh hearings, and Betsy DeVos's proposed overhaul of Title IX regulation, there is a yearning for authentic stories about women's continuing struggle for recognition and equality. Here is a remarkable and true story that addresses this hunger," said Brodwin.
The creative team for Bunny, The Godmother of Title IX includes Elise Morrison (director), Adam Thompson (set design), Judy Kagel (lighting design), Payson Whitwell (costume design), Ryan Seffinger (projections designer), Margaret Gleberman (production stage manager), Olivia Ragan (assistant producer), Lilla Brody (assistant producer and assistant director), Alexandra Cadena (executive producer) and Stark Kirby (marketing director).
Performance of Bunny, Godmother of Title IX will take place March 14th at 7:30pm at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street, Manhattan). Critics are welcome. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for students, seniors and NYC ID holders. https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pe/10377853
