Auditions for Rosetta LeNoire Academy Show 'Street Dreams'

The Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy is seeking talented young people (ages 14-20) for Saturday performance program and Off-Off-Broadway musical production for the May 2008 Academy Production of 'Street Dreams.'  Auditions will be held Friday, October 3 from 4:30-7:00, and Saturday, October 4 from 11:00-3:00 at The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal Street).  To make an appointment, call 212.563.2565 or visit www.amasmusical.org.  Classes begin Saturday, October 18.

Amas Musical Theatre is a 40-year-old multi-ethnic, non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to the development of new musicals and to the training of young performing artists. The Academy is designed for teenagers between the ages of 14-20 from the Metropolitan area.

The Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy meets on Saturdays 9:45-4:30 for classes in singing, acting, and dance, as well as related professional performance classes. A presentation is held in January for parents and friends. In May of 2009, the Academy students perform a fully-produced Off-Off-Broadway Musical. Classes are held at the Players Theatre Studios, 115 MacDougal Street, New York, NY.

Students are selected on the basis of talent, potential and ability in the performing arts. Classes are conducted by established Broadway theatre professionals and offer the opportunity for students to develop their talents in a nurturing and supportive environment. In addition to scheduled classes, special guest artists meet and work with students.
