Ars Nova (Jason Eagan, Artistic Director; Jeremy Blocker, Managing Director) proudly presents the world premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's new play Be a Good Little Widow,
directed by Stephen Brackett.

A limited Off-Broadway engagement plays Wednesday, April 20 through Saturday, May 14 at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street).

Official Opening Night is set for Monday, May 2 at 7:00PM.

Melody thought being a young wife was hard, until she became a widow. Luckily her mother-inlaw, Hope, is a professional - mourner, that is. Navigating the prickly terrain of pressed black dresses, well-intended advice and inappropriate outbursts, Melody stumbles toward
understanding what it means to find someone through losing them in this new sad comedy about handling loss like a grownup.

Bekah Brunstetter's plays include: A Long and Happy Life (Upcoming, Naked Angels, 2012), House of Home (Williamstown Theater Festival), Miss Lilly Gets Boned (Lark playwright's week; Finborough Theater) and OOHRAH! (The Atlantic Theater). She was the 2009 Playwright-inResidence at Ars Nova, a member of the Primary Stages' writer's group, a current Playwright Realm fellow, a 2011 resident playwright of the Finborough Theater, London, and an alumni of Ars Nova's Play Group and the Women's Project Writer's Lab. She is currently working on a commission for the Roundabout Underground. MFA, the New School for Drama.

Director Stephen Brackett's recent credits include Trixie and Monkey: All or Nothing by Kim Rosenstock (Ars Nova), Nick Jones and Rachel Shukert's The Sporting Life (Studio 42/Vineyard Theater), Dan Fishback's You Will Experience Silence (Dixon Place), F#@king Up Everything
(NYMF), Confidence Man (Woodshed Collective), Bixby Elliot's PN1923.45LS01 Volume 2 (FringeNY), and Whore and The Ones That Flutter (SPF/Public Theater). He was the 2010 Director-in-Residence at Ars Nova.Ars Nova awarded Brunstetter a commission to write this play during her tenure as the company's 2009 Playwright-in-Residence, and has developed the play through its Play Group,
Out Loud and Next Step programs. Brunstetter began working on the piece with Brackett during his tenure as Ars Nova's 2010 Director-in-Residence. Be a Good Little Widow features Jill Eikenberry (Broadway: All Over Town, Moonchildren; OffB'way The Kid, TV: "L.A. Law") as Hope, Chad Hoeppner (Spy Garbo at 3LD) as Craig, Jonny
Orsini (Banished Children of Eve at Irish Rep) as Brad and Wrenn Schmidt (film: Client 9, Jailbait) as Melody. This production includes Set Design by Daniel Zimmerman, Costume Design by Jessica Pabst, Lighting Design by Burke Brown and Sound Design by Bart
Fasbender.

Be a Good Little Widow plays April 20 - May 14 as follows:
Tuesday - Saturday at 8:00 PM, with Opening Night performance Monday, May 2 at 7:00 PM.

Added performance Monday, May 9 at 8:00. No performances May 10 or May 11.

Added performance Saturday, May 14 at 2:00 PM.
